🚚 Delivery with DPD

Every Hampergifts order is delivered by DPD - one of the UK's most ambitious couriers when it comes to reducing environmental impact.

• ✓ Net Zero by 2040: DPD's Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated plan commits to net zero emissions by 2040, with a 43% reduction by 2030 from a 2020 baseline - a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement.
• ✓ Growing Electric Fleet: DPD had just 139 electric vehicles in 2020. By the end of 2023 that had grown to over 3,600 - a 2,400% increase - with 64 million parcels delivered by EV in 2023 alone.
• ✓ Renewable Energy: DPD UK runs entirely on 100% renewable electricity, with its largest sortation facilities powered by solar during the day.
• ✓ Fewer Failed Deliveries: DPD's 1-hour delivery window, texted to your recipient on the morning of delivery, means fewer missed parcels, fewer re-delivery runs, and a lower carbon footprint per order.

🌿 Reusable Baskets & Boxes

Our hamper packaging is designed to be kept, not thrown away - which is both the sustainable and the premium choice.

• ✓ Willow Baskets: Our traditional wicker baskets are made from natural willow - a fast-growing, renewable material that absorbs CO2 as it grows. Once your hamper is enjoyed, the basket makes a beautiful storage piece for the home.
• ✓ Paper Fibre Baskets: Our paper rope baskets offer a lightweight, robust alternative - made from sustainably sourced paper fibres and fully recyclable at end of life.
• ✓ Gift Box Towers: Our stacked gift towers use rigid cardboard boxes with fitted lids - reusable as storage, keepsake boxes, or organisers. No single-use plastic, no waste.
• ✓ Efficient Transit: Where possible, baskets and gift boxes are nested during shipping to minimise external packaging and reduce transport emissions per unit.

♻ Inside the Box

The materials we use to protect and present your hamper have been carefully chosen for sustainability as well as appearance.

• ✓ Biodegradable Shred: Our zigzag paper shred is 100% recyclable, biodegradable, and made from 100% recycled content - sourced responsibly and home-compostable at end of life.
• ✓ Recycled Air Cushions: Where protective cushioning is needed, we use air cushions made from 100% recycled material - post-industry and post-consumer waste. They're 99% air and 1% film, so material use is minimal. Production saves 30% on greenhouse gases compared to virgin-material equivalents, and they're fully recyclable again afterwards.
• ✓ Recyclable Bubblewrap: Where used, our bubblewrap is manufactured from 50%+ recycled content and is 100% recyclable - please add it to your kerbside flexible plastic recycling where available.

📦 Outer Boxes

The box your hamper arrives in is the last thing we pack - and just as considered as everything inside it.

• ✓ 100% Recyclable Board: All of our outer delivery boxes are made from 100% recyclable corrugated board. Please add them to your cardboard recycling - they're designed to be recycled again.
• ✓ No Unnecessary Fillers: We pack our boxes tightly and efficiently, using the minimum inner packaging needed to protect your hamper safely - reducing both material use and box size where possible.
• ✓ Reduced Landfill: By choosing 100% recyclable outer packaging, we aim to ensure that nothing leaving our St Albans warehouse ends up in landfill unnecessarily.

Please recycle your outer box with your regular cardboard waste. Every box recycled saves energy and raw materials.
